Looking to take the next step in your career? The Diploma of Leadership and Management (BSB51915) offers you the foundation skills to combine your technical knowledge with management skills for ready promotion into middle management.

The Diploma of Leadership and Management is Australia's leading and most highly respected qualification for middle to senior managers. The qualification allows for range of ways to combine units to suit your job role and to ensure you are recognised for your skills.

The Diploma of Leadership and Management is the ideal next step for team leaders, coordinators and supervisors across all industries. This qualification reflects the role of individuals who are engaged to manage the work of others, to add value to or review management practices. The role may be in any industry or organisational setting.

Learn effective communication skills, key behavioural indicators, influencing strategies and how to develop emotional intelligence in order to manage and lead teams. The course will also cover basic project management, coaching and recruitment skills.

The Diploma of Leadership and Management course is designed to give students a broad learning base, covering customer service, financial management, fitness, human resource management and workplace relations to provide validation to existing managers and prepare those striving for a career in middle management in a business environment.

After completing the Diploma of Leadership and Management, graduates can apply for roles such as:

Graduates will also be eligible to apply for articulation into degree programs such as the Bachelor of Business, Bachelor of Commerce, and the Bachelor of Human Resource Management at a number of universities.

Entry requirements

Prospective students are expected to have:

  • Completed an Australian Year 12 or equivalent qualification
  • Above average literacy levels
  • Above average English language skills

Course duration

Course duration is dependent on study mode.

Online and distance study students will have the benefit of self-paced study with the average student able to complete the course within 6 months studying 8 hours per week. Most online programs will allow students up to 2 years to complete the course.

Students wishing to study via classroom delivery should speak to a CoursesNow consultant to discuss provider options. Most Diploma programs run for a few hours a week for 20-52 weeks during the chosen institution's term time.
