Business administration offers steady employment opportunities and, as a generalist skill set, provides a diverse spectrum of career path opportunities for those who see it as complementary to, or a stepping-stone towards, a more specialised career in other sectors including sales and marketing, accounting and finance, legal work and business management.
The Diploma of Business Administration course provides managerial-level training for clerks and administrative workers. It provides a basis for a wide range of careers and occupations. You will learn how to establish and maintain a workgroup network, manage meetings, plan and manage conferences, plan or review administration systems, manage payroll and manage business document design and development.
This course is for graduates from lower level administration courses, people returning to the workforce and seeking to enter at diploma level, people wanting to extend career path options and people currently in the workforce who want to upgrade skills or have existing skills recognised.
Upon successful completion of the Diploma of Business Administration Course, graduates can apply for roles such as:
- Administration manager
- Office manager
- Executive assistant
- Project assistant
- Sales support
- Contracts administrator
For entry requirements into the Diploma of Business Administration Course you need to:
- Meet any specified course entry requirements; AND
- Provide a copy of your Senior Secondary Certificate of Education (i.e. a Year 12 qualification); OR
- Achieve and Exit level 3 score with the Australian Core Skills Frame work assessments in reading and maths, which will show that you have the capability to be successful in the course. This is done through two short tests as part of your enrolment process.

Online and distance study students will have the benefit of self-paced study with many students able to complete the course within 48 weeks studying 4 hours per week. Most online programs will allow students more time to complete the course.
