Are you responsible for training and assessment in your organisation? Launch your workplace training career with the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, Australia’s leading qualification for trainers, facilitators, assessors, coaches and learning and development professionals.

This qualification is an essential prerequisite for those intending to deliver and assess nationally-accredited training programs and highly desirable for trainers and educators involved in any form of adult instruction.

The Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is best suited to entry level students who are looking to run training and assessment programs in a workplace environment, or for trainers with experience who need a formal qualification.

This qualification will cover the basics of workplace training, covering the principles and techniques associated with adult vocational learning, the design of learning and training experiences, and the planning and delivery of appropriate and valid assessment.

Successful completon of the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment will allow graduates to deliver training or facilitation within a work environment, or apply for roles such as:

Entry requirements

Entry requirements differ according to course provider. As a minimum, prospective students are expected to have above average English language skills. In some cases, although there may be no formal entry requirements experience in a training or facilitation role is highly recommended.

The program requires students to actively practice and demonstrate their training and assessment skills in a workplace environment. Access to a 'practice' environment is therefore essential.

Candidates looking to upgrade from a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAA40104) to the current TAE40110 must have completed that qualification in the last five years.

Course duration

Course duration is dependent on study mode.

Online and distance study students will have the benefit of self-paced study with the average student able to complete the course within 1 year studying 6 hours per week.
