Please note the SIS40210 Certificate IV in Fitness qualification has been superseded on the National Register www.training.gov.au, which means a new version of the qualification is available. Students can continue studying the qualification for 12 months after the superseded date.
The Certificate IV in Fitness qualification is for candidates who would like to train individual clients on a one-on-one basis, and may train specialised age groups, like older clients and children or adolescents.
The course provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to be competent in a range of activities and functions within the fitness industry, including working independently in a broad range of settings.
Students will study subjects such as:
- Fitness business management
- Fitness assessment and programming
- Personal training
- Strength and conditioning
Successful completion of the Certificate IV in Fitness allows graduates to work as an independent personal trainer.
Students who wish to pursue further study may also apply for a credit transfer into the Bachelor of Applied Fitness at ACPE or consider further training in sports and fitness centre management as well as coaching, sports administration and complementary areas such as health and nutrition.
You will need a Certificate III in Fitness (SIS30313) and a current Provide First Aid certificate before you can commence your studies.
This course is available online or on campus (Brisbane, Sydney & Melbourne) full time or part time. Students have up to 6 months from their point of enrolment to complete all their study and assessments and internship.
