Course overview
The Certificate IV in Project Management focuses on eight knowledge areas of project management and relates them in practical ways to the field of project management. It is designed for participants wishing to develop project management skills and knowledge, to a stage where they can competently assist in the planning, management and control of projects within their organisations.
The Certificate IV commences with a 2 day Project Management Fundamentals program for those new to project work, or team members who require an understanding of the fundamental approach to project management. It is particularly suitable for those involved in low value, low risk projects, or multiple, independent projects. The content covers the four phases of project management — initiation, development, implementation and finalisation — with a focus on the early planning stages of project management.
The second part of the Certificate IV is attendance at a 3 day Advanced Project Management program designed for project managers and team members who already understand the basic fundamentals of project management, are accountable for project outcomes, and wish to learn more in-depth tools and techniques of the profession.
After completion of the above, the Statement of Attainment is then achieved through successful completion of the Workplace Assessment.
