Course overview

This course will provide you with the skills and knowledge to work at entry level in a community pharmacy. Typical functions within the community pharmacy industry at this level include serving and interacting with customers, merchandising products and controlling stock, understanding the product range and the roles and responsibilities of pharmacy assistants and pharmacists, communicating with customers to identify needs and provide appropriate product advice and/or referral.

Course structure

The course structure below shows what you must do to complete this course. units/modules are arranged in groups and sometimes also in subgroups.

You must complete each group as specified as well as following the course completion instructions. If a course contains optional groups there will be a statement at the top of the course indicating how many you must do. At the top of any group containing optional subgroups there will be a statement saying how many you must do.

    Pharmacy Retail Assistant

    Please note: To be a qualified pharamcist you will need to attend univeristy and complete a 4 year Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy.

    Entry Requirements

    There are no formal educational requirements for entry into this course.

    Articulation

    When you finish this course you may be eligible to do a number of TAFE NSW courses, such as Community Pharmacy Certificate III 17491 and Community Pharmacy

    Certificate IV 17492.
