A licensed centre-based children’s service must employ a number of qualified people. The number of people required, and their type of qualification will vary depending upon the numbers and ages of children for which the centre is licensed.

Qualifications are required for the positions of Authorised supervisor, Teaching staff member and Primary contact staff member for children under two years.

Given more than 60% of all staff within the early childhood sector have a diploma level qualification or higher it is therefore imperative that you complete a nationally recognized qualification.

Satisfying the requirements of the Australian Quality Training Framework the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment in the must have qualification if you would like to work as a vocational trainer and assessor or work in the workplace as a trainer.
