The Diploma of Sound Production course focuses on the basic components of audio production and the music industry, advancing your knowledge and establishing your fundamental skill base to facilitate further learning. The industry-focused diploma can serve either as a career pathway or as a pathway to Higher Education with the option to transfer into our Bachelor of Audio Production with Recognition for Prior Learning (RPL) on completion of the course.

  • Completion of the Australian year 12 high school certificate (HSC) or its equivalent
    or
  • Equivalent to certificate level II or higher as defined by the Australian Qualification Framework (AQF)
    or
  • Mature age over 21 years
    or
  • On receipt of suitable evidence, SAE shall seek to admit all prospective students (via special entry) who are considered to have a reasonable chance of success in the program
    and
  • International Students have to provide additional evidence of language skills (academic IELTS overall band score 5.5 or equivalent)

    Students who have successfully completed the CUS50209 Diploma of Sound Production have the opportunity to continue their studies into our Bachelor of Audio Production course. Students may be granted up to 12 units (or 1 year) CT/RPL.
