Course Overview

On-Site Defensive Truck - Heavy Combination aims to increase the safety margin of drivers and to reduce vehicle running costs through the application of defensive driving techniques and practices.

Duration

4 - hour Group theory on selected modules, followed by, an individual in -vehicle practical segment.

Trainer / Client Ratio

Comprises: Theory segment 1:12 (maximum) AND Practical segment 1:1 (maximum)

Entry Requirements/Designed For

Participants in the course must hold a current Heavy Combination driver's licence.

This course is designed for semi-trailer or truck and dog drivers who to provide formal tuition in defensive driving, drivers who need to brush up their driving skills, or for drivers of those companies seeking to meet their OH&S duty of care obligations by, among other activities, providing formal post licence driver training. The practical component of this course is conducted on the job, in the truck usually driven by the course participant.

Certification

A Training Statement of Attainment and Driver Evaluation report shall be issued at completion of the course to those participants who demonstrate competence to the national standards.
