Elevating Work Platform Association of Australia "Yellow" Card Training Program

Course Overview

This is an instruction session on the theory and practical use of EWP’s (excluding Boom Type EWP’s over 11metres platform height).  It covers the category of EWP applied for eg. Scissor Lift (Slab or Rough terrain), Vertical Lift & Boom Type EWP’s under 11mtrs (Trailer Mounted or Self Propelled).

The Yellow Card Training program is aimed assisting the Employer in meeting their obligations under the various OHS Acts/Regulations in providing Information, Instruction, training and supervision necessary to ensure the Health & Safety of employees at work. 

This training does not replace the Prescribed Occupation Certificate-WP (Boom Type EWP’s over 11mtrs). If operating a Boom Type EWP over 11mtrs, further training and the WP Certificate is required.

Prerequisites

• Participants for this course must be at least 18 years of age, be free of and physical or medical condition that may affect safe operation of the machine
• Must have basic literacy and numeracy skills
• Able to work at heights.

Course Recognition

On successful completion of a Theory and Practical Assessment a Certificate of Completion (endorsed by the Elevating Work Platform Association of Australia) is issued at the end of the session

The four main types of EWP’s listed on the Yellow Card, with those not applicable deleted by the Trainer before issue.

• Scissorlift-SL
