Driver Trainer

Course Overview

This course is designed to provide intending driver trainers with fundamental training techniques and skills. These techniques include a systematic approach to design, delivery and evaluation of training. Participants will practice both classroom and in-vehicle instruction and assessment whilst improving their driving performance.

Two (2) full weeks - 10 full days

Trainer / Client ratio: 1 : 4 (maximum)

Entry Requirements / Designed For

Participants must be licensed for the class of vehicle they will be instructing in and have substantial current experience driving that class of vehicle.

This course is designed for experienced heavy vehicle drivers who wish use their experience as a driver trainer. The course will provide the skills needed to plan, prepare and deliver driver training and to assess the skills and knowledge of drivers.

Certification

A Training Statement of Attainment is issued to participants demonstrating competence to national standards.

Training conducted on this course aligns to the following units of competence from the Training Packages: TDT02, Transport and Distribution (Road Transport) and TAA04 Training and Assessment.
