This qualification provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to be competent in designing, developing and utilising basic multimedia briefs, either as an independent Information Communications Technology (ICT) specialist or as part of a team. The qualification has a small suite of core units with the opportunity for inclusion of 70 percent of the qualification as electives selected from ‘natural clusters’ of units. Some clusters are in design, animation, website, multimedia development, digital and video, thus
providing exceptional flexibility for individuals and enterprises.

This course is structured through competency based training and assessment. Course duration is based on individual training requirements. 24 months for a full-time traineeship is an indication.
This course has a rolling intake.
A range of pre-requisite units that contain the basic fundamentals of ICT knowledge and skills are required, for entry into this course.

The award of Certificate IV in Information Technology (Multimedia) will be given to students who successfully complete the prescribed units

Units of competency from certificate level IV provide aticulation into higher level qualifications. Such articulation as subject to individual evaluation. The Certificate IV in Information Technology (Multimedia) provides logical entry into higher level qualifications such as the Diploma of Information Technology (Multimedia).
