Certificate I in Horse Industry Operations (Performance Horse) is designed for people entering the horse industry with little or no experience. It is suitable for pre-industry and VET in Schools training where graduates work under close supervision and require basic horse handling and safety skills to work with docile horses in and around stables.

The course enables beginner horse grooms working under direct supervision to develop skills, underpinning knowledge and behavioural attributes required for the care and maintenance of performance horses. It also provides them with knowledge of the horse industry and its many sectors.

By completing the course, students will be able to carry out a range of duties under supervision including handling, feeding, grooming and caring for performance horses as well as applying workplace safety practices.
