Course Overview

GSIBC001 Abide by and apply basic workplace health and safety requirements in the building and construction industry

This unit covers general safety induction in the Building and Construction Industry.

The aim of this training product is to provide initial basic health and safety education to all persons working within the building and construction industry.

Please Note: Due to current legislation changes the QLD Blue Card is now recognised as proof of general health and safety induction training for construction work in NSW and VIC. Alternatively, if you currently hold a valid NSW Green/White Card or VIC Red Card, these are now recognised in NSW.

Entry Requirements

There are no restrictions on entry to this course. The ability to read and understand signs and instructions etc in english is required. There is no mandatory requirement for ‘on the job’ training.

Course Duration

Nominal duration is approx. four hours for face to face delivery. Some adjustment to time in light of class numbers may be appropriate, e.g. a class with small numbers may cover the material in a shorter time frame than a larger class.

Achievement

Participants will receive a Statement of Attainment after successfully demonstrating competency in all of the elements listed in the training program. They also receive the Qld Government pro-forma general safety induction "blue" card.

Notes:

Course 30215QLD "Blue Card" is now recognised in NSW and Victoria.
