Graduates from the Bachelor of Interactive Entertainment majoring in Animation can take on roles in the 2D and 3D animation and games industries as well as provide the skills for career progression into operational, development and managerial positions.
The Bachelor of Interactive Entertainment (Animation) is for those candidates who are interested in a comprehensive program that will take them from hobbyist to professional.
Students will undertake advanced courses in:
- 3D modelling
- Texturing, lighting and animation for games
- Animation and special effects for film and television
- Script writing
- Character development
- Animation for virtual environments
...and leave with a comprehensive portfolio of individual and a major, group animation work.
Undergraduates will also be able to access an internship program that offers relevant work experience and crucial industry contacts, which will prepare them for creative and production roles.
Additionally, students will study communications design, project management, business and copyright law in order to prepare them for the commercial aspects of the industry and equip them with the critical, problem-solving and management skills for ongoing career success.
Career opportunities in this field range from writers to character and games designers; possible employment opportunities in the games industry include:

As a minimum, prospective students are expected to have completed an Australian Year 12 certificate or equivalent and must also have achieved a pass in English and a pass in advanced senior secondary mathematics.
Special consideration will be given to those who do not meet these criteria, which will involve an interview with the relevant Campus Academic Coordinator. Candidates must also show:
- Records of any formal qualifications you have attained
- Details of any work history relevant to your chosen field of study (if applicable)
- A portfolio of anything you believe is relevant and appropriate
Students studying via classroom delivery will enter a full-time program running over 6 trimesters, which takes 2 years. The following campuses offer this degree: Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth.
