This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to implement the operational plan by monitoring and adjusting operational performance, producing short term plans for the department/section, planning and acquiring resources and providing reports on performance as required.

Preparing to Implement the Operational Plan

While organisations use long-term strategic planning to outline the overall direction of the organisation and the strategies to achieve stated or desired outcomes, operational plans are often referred to as action plans for a very good reason. Through its operational (or action) plan, each division, section, team, etc. articulates exactly how it will perform specific tasks in order to systematically achieve goals that are aligned to the strategic goals. This course will investigate the skills and knowledge required to implement an operational plan in your work environment, which could be a discreet operational section or an entire division.
